Elena Raceala

Artist (Photography)
Born 1967
I'm not alone. I am surrounded by my dreams. I am a dreamer.

Elena Raceala is a confirmed photographer. She captures the light and shadows of landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits in black and white, creating images that are surprising for their depth and subtlety.

Her work can be classified as Fine Art with a surreal, grunge, or poetic sensibility. She wishes to convey the emotion of discovering the perspective of a moment, of a story without words, through her images. She is inspired by life, by people's joys and sorrows; at times, her compositions resemble the human condition, in which light and darkness coexist. She enjoys exploring new locations that surprise her, but she also enjoys the human presence, the mundane moments of everyday life that she exposes in a black and white vision.

Elena Raceala resides in Constanta, a city on the Black Sea coast of Romania. In 2019, she earned a diploma from the School of Photographic Art at the Cultural Center "Teodor Th. Burada" in Constanta. She has exhibited in numerous exhibitions both in Romania and abroad and has won numerous awards, including Honorable Mention at the Tokyo International Foto Awards 2020 and Finalist in the Romanian Photographer of the Year 2018/Category: Street.
