Sein neuestes Projekt, #1000Raben, ist eine zum Nachdenken anregende und visuell beeindruckende Auseinandersetzung mit der Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Natur.
Meseg schuf zunächst rund 1000 rot-weiße Raben aus Kunststoff und stellte sie vereinzelt an verschiedenen öffentlichen Orten auf der ganzen Welt auf. Dieses eindrucksvolle Kunstwerk ist nicht nur visuell beeindruckend, sondern vermittelt auch eine tiefere Botschaft über die Auswirkungen menschlichen Handelns auf die Umwelt.
Mesegs Inspiration für das Kunstprojekt #1000Raben entsprang seiner Faszination für die Intelligenz und Anpassungsfähigkeit von Raben und wie sie trotz menschlicher Eingriffe in ihren Lebensraum überleben und gedeihen konnten.
Von Überlebenskünstler zu Überlebenskünstler lautet der Untertitel der Kunstaktion. Auch ist Meseg fasziniert davon, wie ähnlich und doch verschieden zwei Spezies sein können, gerade wenn es um den Kampf ums eigene Überleben und das Überleben der gesamten Art geht.
Das Projekt ist auch ein Kommentar zur zunehmenden Industrialisierung und Verstädterung unserer Welt und dem damit einhergehenden Verlust der Artenvielfalt.
Mit #1000Raben lädt Meseg den Betrachter ein, über sein eigenes Verhältnis zur Natur und die Folgen seines Handelns nachzudenken. Die Kunstaktion hat bereits große Aufmerksamkeit erregt und hunderte dieser Raben wurden an verschiedenen Orten installiert, darunter Museen, Parks und Sehenswürdigkeiten auf der ganzen Welt. Meseg ermutigt zum Mitmachen und zur Interaktion mit den Raben, denn die Betrachter sind eingeladen, sich an dem Projekt zu beteiligen und ihre Erfahrungen in den sozialen Medien unter dem Hashtag #1000Raben zu teilen. Das Projekt stellt nicht nur traditionelle Vorstellungen von Kunst in Frage, sondern regt auch wichtige Diskussionen über unsere Verantwortung für die Umwelt an.
Das Projekt #1000Raben von Meseg ist ein eindringliches und zum Nachdenken anregendes Beispiel dafür, wie Kunst als Katalysator für sozialen und ökologischen Wandel wirken kann.
Seit 2023 werden drei Raben in Bronze verewigt. Jeder Rabe hat als Federkleid ein Flatterbandrelief, das die Flatterbandoptik seiner rot-weißen Artgenossen aus Kunststoff perfekt aufgreift und optisch wie haptisch wiedergibt.
