Like the previous butterfly paintings the dragonfly is painted as though it were a living jigsaw which is disintegrating into the wind. Like the previous butterfly paintings the dragonfly is painted as though it were a living jigsaw which is disintegrating into the wind. The dragonfly symbolises life on earth, complex pieces of a puzzle created by nature that fit together harmoniously, but the jigsaw is fragmenting and as more pieces fly away the whole thing collapses. The fragile appearance of transparent dragonfly wings and the beautiful colours appealed to me in this context.

This painting is sold without a frame. A photo of the back of another sold artwork illustrates how the painting is hung. A frame could be ordered for approx an extra £110, it would be a tray frame as illustrated, the size of the artwork with frame is approx 90cm x 74cm x 2.5cm, the artwork itself is 80 x 64cm. Please add a week to shipping times for framing.

I'm a story teller of the environment, of politics and the imagination. I think in symbols from the beautiful to the ugly, the meaningful to the absurd. Some of it is conscious and some of it subconscious.
My ideas are often unique to me. I don’t try to paint the same things over and over. I fill the landscape of my imagination with ever more bizarre and newly invented ideas each one growing from my previous, and ever increasing, pool of thoughts.
Anyone who likes my work will themselves have a unique perception. I admire those who have an independent enough mind to buy my work.
My concerns for the environment are reflected in my surreal and symbolic paintings while at the same time I constantly experiment with techniques in the form of abstracts.
