Christelle Viviers is a photographic artist whose journey is marked by a deep exploration of life and the human psyche. Inspired by Khoisan culture, she draws her creativity from the idea that “there is a dream that dreams of us”.
After eight years of practice as an occupational therapist, followed by three years as a freelance food stylist, Christelle decided to follow her artistic passion. In 2010, she enrolled in the fine arts course at the University of the Witwatersrand. Between her years of food styling and enrolling in college, she dedicated seven years to painting and reevaluating her health and life.
After completing her undergraduate degree at Wits, Christelle continued her studies by enrolling on the Masters of Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London. She then deepened her knowledge of modern and contemporary Asian art at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London.
