Russia's war against Ukraine affects many here in America, especially those who, like us, have roots in this part of the world and know firsthand about totalitarianism. By the will of one insane person, a full-scale genocide of the Ukrainian nation is taking place in real time before the eyes of astonished Europe, and Europe does not find anything better than trying to "save face" of the aggressor. As a result, the flowers of evil bloom as a symbol of deception and chaos in the minds of people, when the concepts of vice and virtue are reversed, and the biblical story of Cain and Abel is repeated on an unprecedented scale.

Years ago, I studied drawing (pen, charcoal, sepia), painting (pastels, watercolor, oil), still life painting, plein air painting, the art of portrait painting at the School of Art in the city of Tomsk in Russia. During those years, I also received my MS in Applied Electronics and PhD in Biophysics. My scientific research brought me to the US in 1992, and since that time I worked in Chicago as a scientist. Although my day work had been very demanding and was taking most of my time for years, I finally returned to painting full time about 15 years ago.

Of all the techniques I have tried before l I prefer oil on canvas because it gives me unlimited opportunities to express myself. My credo is to use imagination and practice artistic approach in everything I do. Picturing of human mindset in social relations attracts me the most.
