This term appeared in 2000 to designate an artistic approach dating from the 1960s and bringing together graffiti, message paintings, stencils, in short different forms of paintings inspired by the environment in which the artists live. The forerunners of this art form were Gérard Zlotykamien with his ephemeral paintings in 1963 and Ernest Pignon-Ernest with his first stenciled poster collages in 1966. A little later in New York, Cornbread signatures throughout the city revealed the first tags at the end of the 1960s. In the 1970s, styles exploded and the success of this new form of art continued until now with artists like JR, Banksy, Blek le rat, Jonone... .

Kresimir Buden is a contemporary Croatian sculptor. He became 2Fast in the late '80s, when he was engaged in graffiti and one of the founders of the Croatian graffiti scene. He is constantly learning new shapes, moves and techniques, by exploring other types of media and materials.
For the last 10 years he has been working on a concept of street art anchored by his characteristic iconography of arrows, numbers and letters. The Splash It Series are the innovative and explosive expression of 3-dimensional street art imagined by the artist.
Kresimir Buden was born in 1974 in Zagreb, Croatia. After studying Applied Arts and Design, the artist worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. He takes part in numerous national and international exhibitions.
