Watercolor painting “Impression. Railway station in the city of Chernivtsi” is drawn from life in my hometown of Chernivtsi. That morning I arrived at the station by train. And I saw my native station as if in a completely different way than I had seen before, from a different angle and in a different light, moreover, from the side of the platform, which I rarely saw. And so this motive sunk into my soul that I immediately got off the train with all my things and got up to write the impressive view of the beautiful architecture of the station with smoke from steam locomotives, poles of lanterns, people arriving and going outside, and birds in the sky. The work was painting by professional Italian Maimeri watercolors on 100% cotton paper with a density of 300 grams, which will give the picture durability.

Andrii Kovalyk, a Ukrainian traveling artist, was born in 1986 in the city of Chernivtsi, Ukraine. He received a professional icon painting education, during his studies he copied ancient icons in some of the largest museums. During his studies and several years later, he painted churches and painted icons. But in 2018, he decided to fulfill his old dream of a round-the-world trip. Since then, he has been traveling almost non-stop on a bicycle in different countries all the world and painting from nature.

Through travels, he gets to know himself and the world around him, and with the help of painting he tries to convey the whole range of emotions and impressions from the stories that happen enough during his travels.

Participant and prize winner of international exhibitions and competitions. 

Paintings and icons are kept in private collections in the USA, United Kingdom, other countries of Europe and the world.

Now lives and travels in Spain.
