Abdoulaye Aboudia, born in 1983 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, is a contemporary artist whose vibrant works capture the essence of urban life in Africa. Currently residing and working between Abidjan and Brooklyn, Aboudia's artistic journey began after graduating from the Technical Center for Applied Arts in Bingerville. In 2011, his work gained international recognition for its poignant portrayal of the Ivorian crisis of 2010-2011, offering a powerful testimony to the turbulent events unfolding in his homeland.

Inspired by the graffiti adorning the walls of Abidjan's streets, particularly in the bustling neighborhoods of Abobo, Yopougon, and Treichville, Aboudia's art delves into the daily life and history of Ivory Coast, with a keen focus on its conflicts. Initially marked by biographical and protest undertones, his work gained further acclaim in 2012 when the Galerie Cécile Fakhoury showcased his pieces alongside those of Ivorian artist Fréderic Bruly Bouabré.

Since then, Aboudia has garnered attention both locally and internationally, with exhibitions spanning across West Africa and beyond. His artwork has been featured at prestigious venues such as the Benin Biennale in 2012, the Nevada Museum of Art in 2013, and the Saatchi Gallery in London as part of the "Pangaea: New Art From Africa and Latin America" exhibition in 2014-2015. Aboudia's exploration of social realities in a changing African society has solidified his status as a cosmopolitan artist, bridging worlds and cultures through his dynamic and evocative creations.
