A table lamp lightens a wall which returns some light on a shelf with different things, partly concealed by shadow. On the shelf, there are three wine glasses with wide bowls and slender stems, a statuette of two figures blending into one in embrace, small candlestick without a candle. Darkness consumes the edges of the image, largely hiding from sight the common house interior, only hinting at it with such things as a radiator knob and a curly mirror framing. The end of a wire powering the table lamp gets lost into the darkness as well.
