The new life in the after life by Yeshaya Dank

This artwork explores the beauty of the after life i.e. the next life of everything.

I created it on an A4 piece of copier paper; which can be left to decay, and rot in the ground & then produce new life through the compost that it could become.

I put something in the background to create contrast, and help the viewer see that it is made on a flimsy piece of paper.

I created it like this to show what happens after death.

Death starts the cycle of life again; new roots spring forth, new leaves bring forth, and new plants spring forth from the place that was once transformed into nothingness.

That nothingness, and lifelessness now become the basis for something new; without boundaries or limitations.

There's no set shape or concept; there's just new life that grows from everywhere.

What was once a person is now a tree, a plant, a bird, an animal, a root or a flower; what was once lifeless, is now the beginning of a new life form.

It's the beginning of something new, and beautiful!

It's the beginning of something amazing, and profound; something that is now necessary, otherwise it wouldn't have used the energy of that old life form to create a new life form.

What was lost is now something that makes the world a more beautiful place.

So really nothing was lost; rather there was instead a transformation that took place, one beautiful life form, transformed into another equally beautiful life form.

I originally created this artwork after I was suddenly dumped by a guy who I thought I would be building a future with.

We had made all the plans for our future, and then we spoke about our Halloween plans, and then a ghost emoji was sent, and I never heard from him again.

Through that experience a new life in me was born; I realized that I was willing to happily relocate to anywhere if I really loved a guy.

That guy only lived a few states away, and I was willing to move, and start a new life there; that opened up the path for me to feel comfortable enough to slide into the DMs of the guy who I am happily living with now, and together we live on the other side of the world of where I was living.

This is a new beautiful life that grew out of the aftermath of the 'death' i.e. the end of that relationship.

I hope this artwork inspires everyone to never give up regardless of how dire or difficult a situation may seem; cause there is always hope, and new beauty that exists on the other side.

There is always another beautiful afterlife to every difficult life situation.

"My watercolor art explores everything that is beautiful in this world...People, places, emotions, experiences, and opportunities."

- Yeshaya Dank.

I want beauty to be accessible to everyone, and for there to be the understanding that beauty exists everywhere, all the time, you just need to search for it and you will be dearly rewarded!

I paint the uncharted territory, the places and things that I've never seen painted like this before or from this angle.

I try to put many hidden gems into one painting, just waiting for you to discover.

Showing how everything has beauty, it's just waiting to be discovered.

Same with my artworks; with time you will discover new and beautiful details on each painting, which were previously hidden in plain sight!

The artists who inspire my work include:

Edvard Munch, Vincent Van Gogh, and JR.

What is my creation process?

I start by cutting stencils, to ensure that the base shapes and textures are perfect. I then paint using watercolour; up to 50 layers of different colours, in different areas. Allowing some areas to dry fast and some to try slower, creating different textures and shades of colour.

I use thin canvasses intentionally, as i am trying to create beautiful getaways that when not being used, can just blend back into the background again. They don't stick out at you, yet they are still easily accessed at a moments notice, exactly when you need them.

My total creation time, can be up to 3 months per painting.

I grew up in Sydney, Australia. I'm currently based near Horsham, Victoria, Australia.

How I came up with my pricing:

I think a fair wage for an emerging artist is at least $125 USD per day + the cost of materials, shipping costs, handling & insurance costs. So if an artwork takes me a week to create it will cost $875 + the cost of materials, shipping costs, handling & insurance costs. If an artwork takes a month to create it will cost $3,750 + the cost of materials, shipping costs, handling & insurance costs.

My highest priced piece (walking into the sunset) took 3 months to create; hence the $11,250 + cost of materials & shipping, handling & insurance costs.

My prints will priced in such a way that they will be affordable to everyone, cause i believe that everyone deserves to be able to own nice art, and by pricing my prints at a lower price; everyone can afford them! :D

You might also wonder why my prices are the same regardless if there is more or less detail, and the reason for that is because I put the same amount of effort into an artwork with less detail; as I do with the one with more detail.

The difference is in the story content.

The one with less detail will have more of a story, and the one with more detail will have less of a story since most the story is clearly seen, and understood.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support and I look forward to meeting all of you at some point in the near future! :)
