Vitaly Ermolaev was born in 1948 in Kazan.

Graduated from high school with a gold medal.

He received his art education at the Kazan Art School No. 1 and the Kazan Art School.

In 1973 he graduated from the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Faculty of Architecture.                                                                             

In 1981 he graduated from the design course of the Latvian Academy of Arts.

Since 1973 he has been living and working in Latvia.

 In 2004, an art gallery was opened - the theater of illuminated paintings INNER LIGHT in the resort town of Jurmala, in the artist's house, built according to his own project.

The artist is a member of the Latvian Union of Architects, a member of the "Unione Cattolica Artisti Italiani", multiple winner of the ART WEEK International Competitions, a member of the International Association of Writers and Publicists (IAPP), President of the Association of Russian Artists of Latvia (1997-2007).

Founder of the international school of light painting "INNER LIGHT" in Jurmala, where he regularly conducts master classes.

Vitaly Ermolaev's work has been widely recognized both in Latvia and abroad. The artist has held more than 60 personal exhibitions in different cities of the world, his paintings are in the collections of paintings in Europe, North and South America.

In 2009-2019, Vitaly Ermolaev and his INNER LIGHT Theater of illuminated paintings held exhibitions in different countries and cities of Europe: Vatican, Monaco, Paris, Cannes, Nice, Strasbourg, Beziers, Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Trento, Positano, Terracina, Palmanova , Campione d'Italia, Tarragona, Gandia, Karlovy Vary, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Tyumen.

In the cities of Latvia: Riga, Liepaja, Valmiera, Tervete, Rundale, Kuldiga, Jaunpils, Gulbene, Aluksne, Limbazi, Jurmala.

A distinctive feature of the artist Vitaly Ermolaev is a unique two-layer painting technique, which he called INNER LIGHT light painting.

Vitaly Ermolaev developed a composition of luminous paints, and received a patent confirming its authorship ( Patent No. 13121, issued in the Republic of Latvia, July 26, 2002). The name of the INNER LIGHT paint technique is confirmed by the Trademark N .: M 57 606, issued in the Republic of Latvia on 20.05.2007.
