Loved so much the light in this flowers, that I needed to paint fast. That’s why I call this painting a sketch to catch the moment. It’s painted with oil colors on a special acid free primed paper for oil and acrylic medium. Alla prima, that means wet in wet is my favorite technique and this is one of my favorite sketches. I find inspiration often in flowers and nature and it’s mostly to take a break after a big complicated painting, or portrait.

Ulisse Mladenova studied conservation and copy old masters gave her the practical knowledge of old techniques and affected her work.

Working as a tour guide in Italy, she has seen the wonders of the art world and cemented her knowledge of art history. Nowhere could inspire her more than the beautiful renaissance architecture, the sculpture, the paintings, and life in the beautiful city of Florence.

She finds inspiration in the wending strette, doorways, the people who live here, the beautiful gardens and window displays.

As an oil painter, she paints portraiture of all kinds, the tuscan landscapes, flowers and quirky scenes of the city and of her traveling experiences.
