Thomas' life as a photographer spans the spectrum from analog photography with his own development laboratory in his youth to digital art photography. He is self-taught, but also frequently takes photos with other internationally known photographers, for example on tours to the Dolomites, Spain or Northern Norway. He is a board member of the Schleswig Photo Club e. v.
His work focuses on landscapes, from natural to urban to industrial landscapes. He prefers realistic depictions because he wants to focus the viewer's attention on the reality of the surroundings.
Occasional excursions into minimalist and abstract photography complement his overall work.
