Once I came across a strange book in which there was a story about a very strange urban legend. About a living island with three heads - human, bear and pike. Trees grew on his back and this creature appeared in the mist. The author of the book checked this legend and went to the places where this creature allegedly lived - he spent the night in a tent and saw that someone had stolen his lantern. Of course, he decided that it was exactly this creature. And claims that the legend is indirectly confirmed. Isn't that cute?
the work was created in co-authorship with my son and is included in the "Unison" cycle and is made on paper in the author's technique with the use of many materials - it was presented at several exhibitions.
The work is a polyptych and consists of six formats of paper pasted on cardboard. from the reverse side, each format is reinforced with four wooden planks like a subframe. Details in the pictures

Serhii Shkolyar is a contemporary Ukrainian artist. He embarked on his artistic journey in the mid-2000s, leaning towards creating compositions with absurd plots and grotesque imagery. His artistic expertise spans various techniques, including painting, graphics, levkas, and small sculptures. For his initial exhibition, he focused on games from different eras and countries, aiming to narrate their stories through a blend of diverse artistic approaches.

As he delved deeper into the study of gaming models, he became fascinated by their unpredictability, which led him towards embracing absurdism. In 2016, he participated in the first All-Ukrainian art project called "Modern Ukrainian Surrealism." Subsequently, in 2017, he commenced the collaborative venture known as "UniSON."

Between 2019 and 2020, "UniSON" was showcased in several galleries across Ukraine. The project depicted the journey of a father and son as they explored and learned about the world together, incorporating healthy humor and a sense of lightness as integral elements.
