Walking in circles is an original steel sculpture made by Scott Wilkes made by welding hundreds of round steel disks that range in size . This was an experimental piece being the first where i used the disks to see how they would work vs the small rods I normally use. I did like the way it turned out and will be going more like this as well as attempting to mix the two. It was also experimental in trying to convey movement. There was a person in mind when I made the piece but I will not name them. It somewhat has to do with her circular way of life. She has been dealing with mental illness and seems to have been running in circles as her mental state gets worse.. Its very sad for she was my best friend in the world but over the years her schizophrenia has made her someone I not only hardly know or understand anymore but has taken her to place where she just walks in circles mentally.
