© Title: The Dream
Oil on canvas
100cm x 200cm

In this work, the artist undertakes the adventure of shaping the nature of the human being, a journey to the complexity of the personal self through the use of a symbolic language that invites the viewer to interpret the canvas without conditioning.

In the creative process, the author begins an introspective analysis that allows him to capture his reality and identity through a corpus of symbols that the observer, with his gaze, decodes to create one of his own and personal, the meaning of which only he knows and what define. In this way, the personal vision of the author is the starting point because as many different visions and perceptions arise as observers contemplate the pictorial image.

The curved line, the common thread of the artist's "curvy" aesthetic, and color always signify and structure the composition as a dynamic whole, in constant movement, where each of the elements are interconnected.

BIO

Painter, photographer and graphic artist born in Zurich (Switzerland) in 1968, Richard Martin is a multidisciplinary artist whose personality and origins are marked by two very different cultures that directly influence his work. .

The curve, with all its derivatives, is the cornerstone of a style of its own that investigates the interconnection of nature on a global scale through the creative and unconscious process of art.

< p>In the work, each of us will visualize common and different elements depending on our experiences, age, customs...

Thus, the viewer is called to create his or her own story based on the binomial perception- imagination, and to write a personal story determined by one's own intrinsic archetype, inherited or learned: “the work does not have a single meaning, it is multiplexed depending on our experience and vision of the world.”

A journey. visual, of fluid structures that interconnect and intertwine with each other in the work, through the curve as a pictorial language, fed by the currents of informalism and surrealism, among others. “Looking back is necessary to be able to move forward”… “curvisme or curvism was not invented by me; “It was, is and will be present in nature.” “Leonardo of Pisa or Fibonacci in the 12th century discovered this order of growth in nature…”, “curvature is present in everything that surrounds us and connects us even if we do not yet know why.”

From that background it seeks to transmit humanity and awaken in the viewer the construction of their own meaning. Based on synchronicity and the collective unconscious, which, in Jung's words, is “universal and impersonal.”

“Art is an adventure in an unknown world, different for each person.” spectator.”
