The idea is stronger than the technique. The idea cannot be learned. It must be cultivated, it must emerge. When it is there, we can begin the actual work. Generating an uninterrupted flow of paintings, with disordered themes during the first years, always based on words, texts, to succeed in defining major research themes. The first of these is the train of thought: a word, a sentence provokes a reaction, a question. In any case something complementary.
The second theme is linked to primitive arts, the roots of man: African, aboriginal, prehistoric, Egyptian or mysterious like the statues of Easter Island. In each of these civilizations, we find a true source of simple and powerful beauty.
The third theme underlies the whole: pleasure in all its forms, the pleasure of painting, of searching, of creating, of share.
