I have broken down the concept of the rose in terms of textures, emotions and symbolism. The sharp lines are meant to feel like the pricks of thorns. The emotions of red and how one immediately thinks passion when confronted with the color. And the symbolic deconstruction by juxtaposed red patches showing the layers of petals being picked off. Black shows the reality of the act and darker emotions.

As an artist, my story is one of persistence against all odds . In 2011 I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, but rather than a hindrance I believe it works to shape my unique understanding of life, and seeing the beauty in the banal and divinity in the dull.
My mind is extremely focused, but also warped and highly impressionable. It is deeply influenced by spirituality, the humanities, and Indian mythology with social activism sometimes. I like the viewer to experience a deeper meaning of life.
I apply references from scriptures and popular culture (e.g. rap) as talking points. Bold, bright colors, abstract expressionism, and mixed media come as second nature to me.
I currently live in India, alternating between Mumbai and Bangalore and have a full-time dedicated art practice after having left the hospitality industry ( the field of my bachelor's).
My themes are based on my own spiritual practices and experiences. I draw inspiration from Indian mythology and try to draw abstract from the same. I paint with bold and bright colors because I am a colorful person! :-) I like to exaggerate the colors I see around me in India.
