Today there is war in Ukraine. Tens of thousands of soldiers from both sides are dying. The work is dedicated to the famous Russian folk song "Black Raven".. What does a drunken Russian person sing at the end of the feast, when sad thoughts come? What song does he sing, thinking about the transience of life and remembering his comrades who have gone to another world? The plot is very sad, riddled with melancholy and even mysticism. Two main characters: a man and a bird. Both images, the first is a warrior, the second is a prophetic raven, are popular in folklore and author's poetry. A wounded man lies on the battlefield and watches the black harbinger of death circle above him in the sky. The words of the first verse show that the guy still does not believe that his last minutes are coming. All narration is in the first person and belongs to the hero. He promises the predator that he will not become his prey, although he is badly injured.

However, the raven feels the imminent death, spreading its claws. The dying man asks the raven to fly to his homeland and tell his mother that he died in battle for his land. He wants to give the bloody handkerchief to the one who gave it. How to return her freedom and the promise to wait for him.

Further explains the reason. He wants the raven to tell that he has found himself another bride and will soon marry her. In this case, it means death, which is about to take possession of him. The words of the composition tell about a Cossack dying from wounds. He turns to the bird with a request to take the news of his death to the family. The song is over two hundred years old. The first time its text was published in 1830. It was very popular during the civil war in Russia (1918-1921). Wounded and dead soldiers (especially in the mountains) often fall prey to birds of prey, eagles and ravens.
