En plena crisis del Covid, quería hacer un tríptico alegre, remembrando los turquesas y terracotas naturales de los magníficos murales de Bonampak que visite 50 años atrás. En aquella época el solo hecho de llegar era en sí una aventura, cruzar la majestuosa selva tropical para llegar exhausto a la ciudad mítica.[...]

En plena crisis del Covid, quería hacer un tríptico alegre, remembrando los turquesas y terracotas naturales de los magníficos murales de Bonampak que visite 50 años atrás. En aquella época el solo hecho de llegar era en sí una aventura, cruzar la majestuosa selva tropical para llegar exhausto a la ciudad mítica. Verlos murales, relataban sin duda hechos portentosos que a la fecha no me interesan y pero los trazos y colores de siglos que seguían imperturbables, era algo surrealista!
Quería hacer un tríptico en el que la secuencia, el acomodo, fuera al gusto del espectador, vaya un juego de expresión plástica simple y alegre, sin ego ni mayores pretensiones, sobre todo algo que me distrajera de la pesadilla que viví en mi red de ayuda contra el Covid.
Fréderic Klein, mi amigo, al ver la obra se impresionó, a mi juicio más de la cuenta y me pidió que le mandara una narrativa, esta misma, algo que normalmente no hago.
Al reflexionar los colores originales, en la paleta y en el lienzo empezaron siendo turquesas y terracotas y ocres cautivadores. Pero al irme perdiendo en el proceso todo se volvió lento y doloroso y obscuro, como lo que sucedía a mi alrededor.Los colores por más que los quería alegres se obscurecieron; Tlaloc lloraba con un profundo dolor y le brotaron heridas en el cuerpo; el Tigre se volvió feroz y brutal; el Adivino por último se mostró triste pero con esperanza.
Pensé que era un inútil incapaz de plasmar un recuerdo alegre, estábamos en en los momentos más álgidos de la epidemia y el pinche bicho estaba arrasando a diestra y siniestra.
