The form of the vases is smooth, calming and not irritating.
Vase was smoked in pit-fire for a long time to achive these "wild" effects.
It can hold water and its surface is water protected.

I'm visual artist, working in ceramics with а strong interest in research on earth material. I was born 1977, USSR, I have a background in computer science, and after getting two children, I changed my professional path. I began my artistic practice with evening classes at Saint-Petersburg Art Academy and went to the St Petersburg school of Fashion, after graduation, I focused more on Ceramic art and research. I took classes in local architectural ceramics studio, completed a course in ceramic chemistry.
I research natural raw materials, compatibility and limits of using different clay bodies(porcelain, rough chamotte clay bodies, stoneware, earthneware). I am inspired by discoveries in glaze chemistry. I researched different firing processes – saggar reduction in an electric kiln, chemical reduction, and pit-fire. I sculpt human heads, draw them on vases, and throw futuristic-shaped vessels. My ceramic heads connect to my research on how to transform characters surrounding me to untimely form. I'm encouraged by traditional Asian ceramics, Italian majolica, contemporary ceramic art connecting to experiments with ceramic materials.
