On Saturday, May 6 2023, there was the coronation of Charles and Camilla, a historic event with a lot of pomp and pageantry, but also beautiful music. Many people have enjoyed it during a live TV broadcast. For those who want to listen again to the musical episodes, Decca has released a double CD with the complete service and as a bonus 6 pieces that were played before the service. One of those musical fragments is: “Tros y Garreg” (Crossing the Stone) by Karl Jenkins. This composer was born in 1944 in Penclawwd, Wales. He received a broad musical education and became oboist with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. He then went on to study music at Cardiff University and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He achieved limited fame as a jazz and rock musician with the formation Soft Machine, but he became really famous in 1995 through the spiritual music of his Adiemus projects, in which influences from all world religions can be found.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Oil

Paint consisting of pigments bound with linseed oil or carnations. The traditional technique consists of superimposing layers of paint increasingly rich in oil for a solid and durable hanger.
