In the fairy tales we were read as children, Baba Yaga was presented as an antagonist, but mythology says otherwise.
She was incredibly wise, had magical powers, and was often called upon by ordinary people for help.
It was believed that Baba Yaga was a guide between life and death, as well as the keeper of the forest.
And huts on chicken legs, by the way, in fact, existed in antiquity. The Slavs buried the dead in the houses standing on the beams similar to chicken legs. Amazing, isn't it?

Hello world :) My name is Mayra, I am a self-taught artist from Russia. I paint oil and watercolor paintings. I love surrealism, Slavic mythology, chess theme and nude art. I started my path in art at the end of 2020 and during this time I have tried painting in different genres. In my paintings I like to use non-standard perspective, bright juicy colors. I like realism and illustration in watercolor, and in oil I prefer to use unusual subjects that allow me to reveal interesting stories behind each work. In my paintings, I come up with the subject myself, rather than copying other paintings. I try to realize my fantasies in a unique style, not just create a beautiful picture.
