For me, a connection to old, dilapidated, and worn-out artwork that evokes a sense of the past is a powerful and personal experience. Art has the unique ability to serve as a time machine, transporting individuals to different eras, cultures, and emotions. The worn-out and weathered appearance of such artwork often carries the patina of time, telling stories of its journey through history.
I find solace and inspiration in these aged pieces
My name is Mahesh Anjarlekar and I'm an art enthusiast and a maverick all rolled into one. Academically speaking, I'm an applied art graduate from one of the leading institutes in Mumbai. I made a humble beginning in a small village in the Konkan and then moved to Mumbai for further studies. Currently, I live in the central suburb of Thane city in Mumbai. Professionally, I'm a qualified visual artist with vast and varied experience in conceptual art, space design, art installations, community art and public art. I have special expertise in working with all types of materials like Terracotta, Clay, FRP, Metal, Paper Mache, Cement, etc. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working and collaborating on various government and private projects and installations across the spectrum. Besides this, I also run my advertising agency and also hold exhibitions across India for my paintings and sculptures. Art is not just a career option for me but is also my passion and given the opportunity, I'm always looking to do something new and exciting with this medium.
