The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheater in the center of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum. Despite its age, it is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built, and it is still the largest standing amphitheater in the world. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in 72 and was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir, Titus

I am a semi-professional photographer who specializes in travel, landscape, cityscape, wildlife, and candid street photography. I have a large library of photographs from around the world that I have collected over the past 20 years covering a broad range of locales and subjects.
While most of my work is color photography, for many subjects my preferred medium is black and white. To my eye, monochrome images can oftentimes convey the story in a more visually striking and dramatic context, while at the same time, providing a simpler and less complicated image to the viewer. Sometimes, color distracts from the story.
I primarily learned photography from reading books on photography, studying the work of other photographers, and much trial and error.
