Coming from a freelance family, the first forty years of my life went by at lightning speed. No time to live, to reflect, to find oneself, to question oneself.
So at 40, I wanted to say stop. Stop to breathe, to get to know yourself and to affirm yourself. The choice was difficult but salutary.
Painting freed me and reconnected me to my self. The beginnings were chaotic but following painting lessons started at the Academy of Fine Arts in Namur, little by little, I freed myself.
Painting for me is a moment of freedom, of emotions. The color, the texture, the supports, the gesture or the tools used, everything is to be explored. I like that things are not clearly painted but suggested. Through various themes such as trees, Saxo, rain, etc., I let my emotion slip on the canvas. The hands, the squeegees, the cards are there to work the canvas, to spread, remove, stretch, stain, whatever. Colors are essential for me, they make me vibrate, they give pep, light, hope. Blue is predominant in my paintings as well as red. I also recently discovered the metallic and iridescent color, I love it. This gives light to the board especially in the dark.
So if you like colors, stains, brushstrokes, scrapings, etc., let yourself be carried away by my paintings.
