This work was inspired by my memories of the best parts of a cold winter. Pure white snowstorms, magical sparkles of light across frost and the fun of a snowball fight. Whiteout shimmers and glistens as you move around it. It is encrusted with beads, crystal and various kinds of glass which lend a softness that belies its hard materials.

Whiteout shimmers and glistens as you move around it. It is encrusted with beads, crystal and various kinds of glass which lend a softness that belies its hard materials.
The three snowballs add a highly sculptural element to a work that exudes beauty, elegance, and originality.

It is framed in white painted timber and has D rings and wire attached for immediate hanging. On the back you will find the title, year, and my signature. On the front, my initials are part of the work (lower right).

Whiteout has an entire chapter dedicated to its creation in my book ‘Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic’ (Schiffer Publishing USA). It will be sent with a signed copy of the book plus a certificate of authenticity.

Julee Latimer is a contemporary abstract artist based in Australia. The primary focus of Latimer's creative process is the use of dried paint. She creates paintings without brushes using paint that has dried before it is manipulated. The unsupported material's natural flexibility enables her to explore her interest in textile, collage, and sculptural techniques. She investigates the differences between control and freedom, instability and stability, and visibility and invisibility through her highly process-driven artistic practice. Julee Latimer wants to challenge preconceived notions about what a painting can be.
