Ilya Kexholmsky is a contemporary professional graphic artist, painter, graphic designer, silkscreenprintmaker. He lives and works in St.Petersburg. He studied at St.Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design and is a member of the St.Petersburg Union of Artists, Department of Graphics. He has been working in the field of identity and illustration for many years, and since 2019 has been mainly engaged in graphic art. Ilya Kexholmsky participated in a number of art exhibitions in St.Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Helsinki, London and other cities. His works are in private collections in Russia and other countries. In his graphic art, Ilya Kexholmsky uses the power of simple but spectacular materials - graphite and charcoal to convey his artistic vision. He prefers strong, confident lines to convey emotion and depth with minimalistic use of color. Archetypal symbols occupy a prominent place in his works, as Ilya Kexholmsky strives to fill each work with layers of symbolic and intuitive meaning. His artistic process is characterized by a “stream-of-consciousness” approach that allows his inherent symbolism and emotions to flow onto the canvas, inviting viewers to interact with their own instincts and emotions.
