Le prince Rogers Nelson connu sous le nom de Prince, né le 7 juin 1958 à Minneapolis, Minnesota et décédé le 21 avril 2016 à Chanhassen, Minnesota, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète, multi-instrumentiste et producteur américain de musique pop, funk, rock et RnB. Il est également danseur et acteur.
La carrière de Prince a commencé en 1978 et sa discographie comprend plus de trente albums studio sortis en moins de quarante ans. Il a également composé des chansons et produit des albums pour d'autres artistes comme The Bangles, Sheena Easton, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Madonna, Sheila E., Mavis Staples et The Time.
Son succès commercial est Purple Rain (1984) et vendu à 20 millions d'exemplaires.
