On the embankment
This work was painted according to the recollections of one of the trips to St. Petersburg. We went to Vasilievsky Island, wandered around museums, then crossed the bridge and walked along the embankment for a long time. Scavenging cars, roads and intersections, successive old houses, gray St. Petersburg sky and warm wind, the Neva River, bridges and the far bank.

Burtsev Evgeny was born in 1982 in the city of Syktyvkar. This is a small town located on the northern outskirts of Russia among the Ural Mountains and endless forests. Love for nature was instilled in Evgeny from childhood and accompanied him all the way in all his creative endeavors. For many years Evgeny was fond of mountain tourism. During this time, he repeatedly visited remote places, inspired with pristine beauty, not yet affected by man. On the mountain peaks of the Urals, Caucasus or Tien Shan, he absorbed the energy of these unforgettable places, later embodied on his artworks. Nature in all its manifestations for a long time remained the central theme of Evgeny's works.

The passion of painting educate in a person a rare ability to see beauty not only in landscapes, but also in everyday routine, those details, fragments by which he passed by daily. Harmony and aesthetics in objects, textures, forms or colors. Those things that I looked at yesterday with indifference became to you with incredible depth. The ray of the evening sun touched the creaking wicket, warmed the porch of the old house - and this is a whole story and a whole world. And paint is an incredible tool in the hands of the artist. A tool that allows you to rediscover this world and convey your impressions to the viewer. Writing impressions is the goal I set for myself in every new job, like the sunset on Elbrus or the old kerosene lamp.

This approach to creativity imposes its imprint on artistic style. The work should create an impression, and to achieve this goal, scrupulous rewriting of details is not always required. Color, shape, texture, vitality and courage in applying colorful swabs, generalization and details, creative improvisation are the main principles of work. Sometimes in the finale the work does not look at all like at the painting object, or in the original idea - and this is all the great, not to copy, but to create!
