This is her memory of a homeless person who ''lived'' a the corner of her street when i was living in Edinburgh (Scotland).
He was an intellectual who had been unfortunate enough to loose everything in life, family, work, money...and ended up surviving in the streets.
What would help him to keep his sanity was reading. He was obsessed with books and people would come to see him and give their used books to read.
Elodie pictured him in a red monochromatic scene, where he seats on a book to keep himself was, he has broken glasses on, and his huge right hand his ready to eat the books that he will receive.
The pink colored zones are rather soothing and the use of red makes echo to energy, life challenges, human blood.

Elodie M. Richard was born in France but with a complex heritage including Polish and Russian. Due to her father’s career in the Army her family had to regularly move and adapt to new locations in France and abroad. Her life path as a child and adult is made of travels and regular changes of geographical locations, constantly balancing between feeling of loss, challenges and new life starts.
