These feminine silhouettes were picked up in Sevilla, Granada and Malaga. Whirls of colors, passion, movements, happiness, fatigue, drama. Girls could be professional flamenco dancers or just models, dressed in traditional Spanish dresses.
This particular girl was spotted by the ocean, in Tarifa, Cadiz province, Spain, the place where Mediterranean sea meets Atlantic Ocean.
The technique of this series is gouache and pastel over Canson paper. Drawings are made quickly as sketches, just to pick up a silhouette. And pastel strokes in several layers give the artworks depth and vibrancy.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Gouache
