It is in some ways easier to attract male interest than for males to attract their interest, but attracting the interest of males they are interested in and not those others, becomes a challenge. In part, actually a large part, an element of instinctive fulfillment for most females is that within their bodies new life may grow and for most, at some time, the desire to experience this becomes nearly compelling.
But though nature has equipped most women with the attributes to attract a mate, it hasn't always equipped all of them equally. I'm not speaking about the ability to attract a male for mating, but the ability to actually become the host for a fetal human being. Many women will find themselves unequipped for this, find that in delaying, they have missed their opportunity, or will select a mate that is incapable of impregnating them. In its typical cruelty, nature will often torment them then with grief and self-recriminations.
This image addresses another of the problems women may face. In attracting the attention of males that they are or could be interested in, it is almost impossible to avoid attracting the attention of other males they aren't and psychologically cannot be interested in. Many women find times in their lives when they are beset by interested males in such numbers, they miss the ones they might be attracted to amid the crush of suitors pursuing their attention like paparazzi pursuing Princess Diana. And tragically, many perfectly attractive women go through periods of self-doubt and anguish because they are unable to attract even less desirable attention at times in their lives.
Nature is a beast and life the smelly cave in which it dwells. But somehow, for most of us, more often than not, the joys outnumber the sorrows and if you survive it long enough, there comes a time when you don't care about such things and are just happy to be alive.

Edwin Loftus es un pintor y dibujante estadounidense nacido en 1951. Su interés por el arte comenzó a los 4 años cuando decidió dibujar algo real en lugar de trabajar desde su imaginación.
De niño destacó en el dibujo y de adolescente comenzó a experimentar con la pintura al óleo. En la universidad, tomó cursos de arte e historia del arte y se dio cuenta de que el verdadero arte no tenía nada que ver con la calidad del dibujo o la pintura, sino que tenía que tener la ambición de traspasar los límites y ampliar la experiencia visual.
También estudió filosofía, psicología e historia y rápidamente se dio cuenta de que era solo otro establecimiento de arte que intentaba defender su industria elitista y su sistema de recompensas. Sus habilidades eran casi inexistentes, no sabían nada sobre psicología, percepción o respuesta a estímulos, y eran extensiones del sistema de creencias que hicieron del comunismo, el fascismo y otras formas de totalitarismo fuerzas tan destructivas en el mundo. Literalmente creen que el arte no debería estar disponible para los seres humanos comunes, sino solo para una élite lo suficientemente "sofisticada" para entenderlo.
Edwin Loftus se dio cuenta de que los emperadores del arte no tenían ropa, pero seguían siendo los emperadores. Dotado en el arte, trabajó duro para adquirir esta habilidad. Así que encontró otras formas de ganarse la vida y vendió algunas obras de arte de vez en cuando. Durante sesenta años, muchas personas disfrutaron de sus obras y algunas las coleccionaron.
