Dieter Hanf, digital artist and photographer, was born in 1959 in Cologne. His first lessons in image composition, design and illustration were given to him by his father, a talented scholarship holder from the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, as well as by Wolfgang Göddertz, sculptor and artist from Pulheim near Cologne.
His path leads him to photography, with the first independent activities in his own photo studio within the Cologne music scene. Inspired by the works of Edward Curtis, Ansel Adams, August Sander, Joseph Beuys, Klaus Staeck and Jürgen Klauke, Hanf embarked on creating his own fine art photographs.
The major themes of his artistic works lie in the exploration of individuals, their social and societal challenges, as well as in the reflections on the environment, society and various subjects from the fields of science, philosophy and science. artistic interpretation.
Dieter Hanf studied philosophy, German literature and pedagogy at the universities of Cologne and Mainz, while working as a teacher in an integrated school in Weiterstadt, Hesse. In January 2018, Dieter Hanf decided to share his artistic creations with the public, thus initiating a series of national and international exhibitions.
He collaborates with various artists from Europe, the United States and Australia. Notably, his close collaboration with Tetka Rhu (Australia) resulted in the creation of 55 works exclusively published by EDGIC Artists Ltd. He also collaborates with Ashley De Loan (USA) on 6 works addressing the themes of "Matrix Mixer" and "Digital Well-Being".
A notable art and furniture project is the "Dusek & Hanf, Art and Furniture Project". In collaboration with Bea Dusek of Prague, high-end furniture is hand-upholstered with custom-designed fabrics, using the same design as the works of Dieter Hanf. The result is exclusive sets that combine the original works of art with exceptional furniture, thus creating an artistic coherence.
In cooperation with Stan Bert Singer, a Viennese painter who developed Renaissance techniques, Hanf is currently working on a series entitled "Modern Madonnas". This series explores in a contemporary and critical way the Christian theme of the Virgin Mary. Exhibitions in Vienna, Prague and Cologne are planned for 2021.
As an author, Hanf writes essays on societal and artistic topics, notably for "Luxury Splash of Art", a London-based lifestyle and art magazine.
