The artist has used symbolism here ...
White elephant: The climate crisis is the white elephant in the room...nobody wants to acknowledge it.
Chess: Some people, perhaps politicians, corporates, leaders, are busy playing mind games...but soon noone will be left to play, to complete the game.
Nina: Mother Nature, in one of her many forms, is watching.
Young man: Future generations, like the present in Africa, are wandering across arid lands looking for water and other resources.
African lady: Hope, looking across the open ocean as the awakened Eco Warriors, sailing across sees, rise to the challenge inspiring others. The ships are titled after Jane Goodall, David Attenborough, and Pushpanath Krishnamurthy.

Dharshana Bajaj’s paintings celebrate the “human–nature” interconnection. Inspired by the ancient Indian Advaitha philosophy, and her own spiritual practices such as meditation and journaling, Dharshana aims to depict the “Oneness” of all that exists in her art. Deeply concerned about the climate change crisis, she wishes to raise awareness in the viewer on the importance of “reconnecting” with and bonding with nature, the way our ancestors did for thousands of years before. Dharshana believes that when each of us wakes up to the truth that we are not “apart” from Nature, but “a part” of it, we will start making better choices collectively. Her preferred medium is oil paints on canvas, but she also loves experimenting with other mediums. Her art is colorful, varied, and joyous. While much of her work is conceptual, she combines both representations and abstractions.
