Ma série « WE » fait suite à ma série sur les arbres remarquables. Cette série est née, il y a presque vingt ans dans l’atelier d’un imprimeur. J’étais alors tombé en admiration devant des matrices en métal destinées à l’impression. Ces matrices posées à même le sol devaient être rayées ou percées afin d'interdire toute nouvelle exploitation.[...]
Ma série « WE » fait suite à ma série sur les arbres remarquables. Cette série est née, il y a presque vingt ans dans l’atelier d’un imprimeur. J’étais alors tombé en admiration devant des matrices en métal destinées à l’impression. Ces matrices posées à même le sol devaient être rayées ou percées afin d'interdire toute nouvelle exploitation. L’idée m’est alors venue de réaliser mes propres matrices, devenant "œuvres" à part entière, et ce en utilisant le bois, matière que je connais bien et qui fait référence à la forme d’impression la plus ancienne, annonçant l’imprimerie.
