Christel Lardant is a professional photographer born in Bordeaux (France). She will live in this region until she is 7 years old. Life there is peaceful, it evolves in the countryside between nature and the ocean. The whole family left France in the early 80s to settle for 5 years in Africa, in the Ivory Coast. They will definitely return to France in 1985, then move around France until they are 18 years old.

Ever since she was little, Christel has loved escaping to worlds in which she can express her sensitivity. She is very creative and overflowing with imagination! She draws a lot, likes art and later tries her hand at painting, then at the theater with les Cours Florent. His passion for photography will be born later.

Sensitive and 'uprooted' teenager, with a chaotic school career, she will not be able to do the art studies she had planned. After her baccalaureate, she decided to go and live in Paris, to carry out more conventional studies there. She will stay there for 21 years. A contrasting period during which she 'navigates' between: happiness, with the birth of her daughter, the success of projects, meeting her husband and more painful moments, such as separation and illness.

The year 2012 marks a strong turning point in his life. Then 40 years old, Christel discovers by chance after a difficult professional period, that she is ill… with cancer. It's a real uppercut! She falters, but gets up quickly and supported by those around her, she goes into battle for a whole year, which will end in victory.

This is how in 2013, she decided with her husband and daughter to change her life. All three leave to settle in Lyon. Close to a family home in the mountains, it's a return to basics, to nature, to life! Quickly, the need to exercise a profession that she loves follows.

Christel reflects on what makes her deeply happy and this memory also came to her: that day, when, nailed to her hospital bed, she said to herself that the only way to be able to withstand so much pain would be to have with be wonderful images, head full! And this is how his passion for photography was born!

An irresistible need to live and the missing link between drawing and painting! Christel, therefore, decides to go in search of unexpected images! What she likes in photography is the creative dimension, its immediacy, the emotion and the power to capture time. She has the feeling of finally seeing what she did not see and rediscovering what she had not seen for years. It is a permanent journey.

Since 2014, her case has never left her! Prolific and passionate, she explores many fields, but it is in nature photography and more particularly in macro photography, that she has met with the most success. She likes to magnify the fragility that surrounds us with a constantly amazed gaze. His work is described as "poetic, soft and delicate"
