To draw, to paint in the forest is to extend the solitude to a whole sheltered, silent space where only the rustle of leaves or a few distant brushstrokes measure the dimension of silence. And there, in the shadow of this vast quietude, to retain the contours of a trunk, to follow the articulation of a branch, to unwind the complex skein of a bush,[...]
