Story about the painting:
It happened on an autumn morning in one of Budapest's alleys. No one anywhere, the city seems to have died out. It had just stopped raining and bright sunlight lit up the street.
That's when I noticed a golden angel in the window. No, he wasn't an otherworldly angel. He was an earthly angel. A girl standing at a bus stop. The sun's rays around her long flowing hair and billowing raincoat created a golden glowing aura. Along with the girl's pure, innocent facial expression and pose, it was truly like a revelation from heaven.
That scene was deeply engraved in my soul. Much more intensely than before, I realized how important and beautiful the pure souls of children, not yet corrupted by the world, are for all of us. They are messengers of God who make the world more beautiful and better.

Zsombor Barakonyi is a contemporary Hungarian painter. His unique visual language offers viewers new levels of perceiving reality, in which, by overwriting conventional approaches, he builds a dialectic relationship between content and objectuality.
Barakonyi‘s works are postmodern panel paintings depicting visions of metropolitan flâneur. The depicted scene is always a snapshot, capturing a moment in the urban hubbub and commotion, which reveals itself through a model of perception whose anchoring points have been shifted into a new balance.
Zsombor Barakonyi was born in 1972, in Budapest, Hungary. After graduating from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and also earning a Doctor of Liberal Arts degree there, Barakonyi went on to win numerous awards and prizes.
