Eis o tema de O Mundo Iluminado pelos Astrônomos – A Ciência Vista como um Livro Aceso na Escuridão, uma proposta de obra criada como livro de artista, cuja capa construída arquitetonicamente com palavras, expõe mais uma vez a marca registrada de André Braga, um artesão que não se cansa de inventar novas formas de construir o que dizer. É neste diário de criação, que descobrimos todos os textos, desenhos, pinturas e colagens que serviram de base às pesquisas e estudos que o artista teve de fazer para conceber suas construções arquiliterárias. Produzido de forma artesanal, toda a sua estrutura tridimensional nos faz lembrar um objeto raro, espécie de relíquia artística perdida e reencontrada, criada como preciosidade nessa mistura de livro e escultura em mídia mista. Como o próprio artista costuma dizer em seus depoimentos pessoais, se cada história traz consigo um autor diferente, cada livro requer a construção de um novo trabalho.

Collages

Collage is an artistic creation technique that consists of making a plastic creation by combining elements of various kinds: more or less flat materials, such as printed oilcloth, painting or drawing, newspaper extracts with text and photos, paper paintings, documents, various objects of low relief, etc. When the creation incorporates elements in relief, one can also speak of assemblage. This also includes glued papers, which employ a variety of papers, including newspaper, and drawing techniques.

Acrylic

Paint using traditional pigments mixed with synthetic resins.

Airbrush

Paint made with a miniature paint gun that breathes the medium through compressed air on the support.

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Enamel

Paint made with molten glass powder and oxide. The enamels are then applied by mixing them with distilled water. There is a form of vitrifiable enamel which consist of mixing the oxides with very little glass and oil until a paste is obtained. They are then applied as a painting.

Sculpture technique using a metallic wire made of iron or steel.

Sculpture technique using wood, natural material of plant origin.
