These are old houses and roofs that have already been battered by life, which makes them even more interesting to look at and draw. In some places they were overgrown with grass, moss and lichens, in others they were simply and hastily patched up so that they would not leak. Somewhere among the old something new is being built. Laundry is drying. But not on the balcony, but on a long rope between the houses. This is atypical for me, because I look at a new world through the eyes of an emigrant who has recently moved to a new country. I like to notice such little things, because it is through them that I get to know a new culture
This work shows a view of tiled roofs in one of the old areas of Porto near the Fonteinas promenade. I lived with this view for the entire first year after moving here.

The work was done with oil pastels and colored pencils on tinted paper. On the reverse side of the work you can see traces of oil seeping through, but this is not a defect. This is a normal property of the material and since the work is original, it is evidence of the author’s work

Привет, меня зовут Анастасия Потелова и я художник-путешественник. Я родом из небольшого городка на северо-западе России - Вологды. Сейчас живу и творю в Португалии, Порту.
Мой творческий путь, долгий и извилистый, не ограничивается только рисованием. Я очень люблю что-то делать своими руками - лепить, шить, мастерить.
Я черпаю вдохновение из окружающего меня мира. Это могут быть самые простые вещи. Иногда, чтобы зажечь искру вдохновения, достаточно увидеть просто цветок на пустыре или красиво сложенные коробки на помойке. И, конечно же, природа во всех ее проявлениях меня очень заряжает, поэтому я так люблю путешествовать и с удовольствием меняю место жительства.
Моя любовь к путешествиям отражена в моем творчестве. Я предпочитаю материалы, которые удобно брать с собой в дорогу: акварель, масляная пастель, карандаши, уголь. Моя техника живая и быстрая, этюдная, без большого количества деталей.
Я закончила Ярославское художественное училище, где получила академическое образование. По сей день я придерживаюсь реалистического стиля в своих работах. Но при этом я не творю в одном направлении. Я очень люблю и пейзажи, и зарисовки людей, и натюрморты и т.д.
Творчество для меня — широкое понятие, означающее, прежде всего, созидание.
Творить — это прекрасно. А если что-то создавать, то нужно делиться этим с миром, не ограничиваясь городом, в котором живешь. Ведь мы живем в прекрасное время, когда границы, особенно географические, стираются. Я счастлив, что мне есть чем поделиться.
