What/who inspired the work?
Conceptually, I had been inspired by the Robert Filliou's work titled "Galerie légitime" (1962-63). Formally, I was inspired by the Gerhard Richter's photo paintings.

What do you hope its viewers will think?
I hope the viewers know I founded a museum of contemporary art in a ballot box in 2009. This cultural entity has several sections, and one of them is "The Paintings Section From Davis Museum". This section is divided in two genres: portraits and still lifes. The portraits series is about the three artists who created their own museums: Marcel Duchamp, Robert Filliou and Marcel Broodthaers. The still life serie is about the artworks created by them: "Boîte-en-valise", "Galerie légitime" and "Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles". This paintings is about the work by the Fluxus French artist Robert Filliou.

Why did you choose the medium, color?
I chose the oil on canvas because it is sophisticated and durable. I chose the blue because it is the Davis Museum brand color.
