This painting was created under the impression of Alina Pash's song "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", which she wrote specially for participation in Eurovision-2022 in Turin and Sergei Parajanov's film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors". The filming took place in Ukraine. This film shows a tragic love story, based on work of Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky. Aside from the plot, Ukrainian mountains, originality, incredible beauty of national costumes and feelings created an incredible atmosphere.
The main idea of my painting is the personification of the present situation, the feeling of each person in the present world. It is shown through Ivan and Palagna's wedding. For me it is more than just a beautiful ceremony, this is the legacy we receive from our ancestors.
We have had our eyes closed and a heavy weight hung around our necks, but we don't give up. It is hard for us, but we are stronger than any circumstances. We stumble, fall, but get up and move on. We leave the past behind and make our way into a happy future. Ivan and Palagna seem to emerge from the shadows of the past and their souls burst brightly into the present. Love, beauty, loyalty are always there. Everyone should have a reliable friend, partner, lover, who will just be there for them and it is already a huge support. This is the meaning of life: love, devotion and loyalty. To find your person in this huge world is a hope that opens our eyes and removes shackles from our shoulders. This is the truth that remains unchanged over time.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Artem Pavlyukov was born in 1972 in Kazakhstan. After graduating from school, he studied at the Almaty Power Engineering Institute, but did not work in his specialty. After graduation, he ran the family business. Selected collections of women's shoes for stores in Kazakhstan. At the same time, he was professionally engaged in bodybuilding and worked as a personal trainer. He is a two-time champion of Kazakhstan in bolibuilding. For a long time he lived in Dubai, as a family business was connected with this city. After 2015, he left the family business. He traveled a lot and looked for himself in creativity. Painting has always attracted Artyom, because his grandfather was a famous artist in the USSR. I tried painting with acrylics and ink. Now Artem paints only with watercolors. The main subjects for painting are landscape, architecture, flowers and animals. He seeks inspiration during mountain walks and trekking. Participated in international watercolor competitions in Russia, Spain, Italy. His paintings are exhibited in the Livorno Gallery and virtual galleries. In Kazakhstan, he conducts master classes in artistic painting. He uses the highest quality materials in his work. These are Arches and Hahnemühle cotton papers, as well as WINSOR & NEWTON, GOLDEN, DANIEL SMITH and SCHMINCKE watercolors. The style of work is closer to impressionism. Painting technique - dry brush.
