Lui tendre un miroir et mettre en scène sa pensée folle – celle qu’il tient pour le propre de l’homme et dont il minore pourtant l'imagination, au point de croire en l’absoluité de ses inventions, en occultant tout bonnement qu’elles le sont.
Or, comment a-t-on pu penser qu'à force de penser, la pensée parviendrait à autre chose qu'elle-même ?
La première croyance de la pensée, c'est elle-même.
Mon travail ne consiste pas à représenter le réel mais à représenter la pensée au sein du réel.
Mais comment représenter la pensée à elle-même ; donner à voir le processus réflexif de tout esprit qui se produit en même temps qu’il se représente ?
Comment rendre sensible la pensée, matérialiser son abstractivité, exposer sa réalité ? Comment en être l’image et s’en faire le miroir ?
La pensée est mon objet de réflexion dont je mets en scène la réflexivité. Comme telle, je tends à la théâtraliser, c'est-à-dire transmuter ses représentations s'ignorant comme telles en représentations conscientes d'elles-mêmes ; muer l'illusion en invention..."
Virginie Boutin is a French photographer and writer linked to the movement of visual photography. She defines herself as an “artist-essayist” whose thoughts are the object of reflection. During artist residencies, she carries out visual research and creates photographic stagings, focusing on photographing without a subject. In her work, she tries to represent thought, in order to make it perceptible. She defines her approach as follows: “ My work does not consist of representing reality but of representing thought within reality . » She creates, from the most improbable heterogeneous materials, images which are sensitive concepts seeking to show the reflective process. The image shapes and translates the abstraction of ideas. His aesthetic research is inseparable from writing. In 2008, she published in the collection “Philosophical Ouverture” at Éditions L'Harmattan an essay entitled Petite scenologie de lathough: Experiment on human idiopathy , in which she tries to stage thought as an art of making the world thinkable . She also collaborates with several academic journals, notably the journal Plastir , in which she published in 2014 under the title Pensoir de Pocket, Fragments of a Thought at Work, the first part of her working notes, which she defines as a “ manifesto for an art of thinking . »
