Vincent Lacroix is a contemporary French painter. Through his paintings Lacroix is presenting us his vision of today’s society and it’s issues such as justice, security or egocentrism. He is an artist at the confluence of the “surrealist”, “expressionist” and “pop art” movements.
First expressionist, because the expression transforms his inner turmoil into existential and societal message, quite corrosive, although a form of humor sometimes appears in the final work. Surrealist because the universe depicts, especially in the last periods, a dream world rather than a real world. Pop, by the colors, volumes, lines, which draw from contemporary popular arts, a dynamism and brilliance that has disappeared in the elitist and desiccated production of a large number of “contemporary art” zealots.
Vincent Lacroix was born in 1960, in France.
