The Rhythm of Life is a large narrative etching. Set in a European city square, this exuberant image sees a plethora of musicians and singers take their sounds to the streets. As a cacophony of song and sound permeates the scene, people embrace the rhythm of life. There is dancing and singing, love and romance, fun and games, babies, children and grannies, nuns and a bishop - and no party would be complete without the Village People nor the alternative Village people, as seen in a group of Morris Dancers. This is one large party, and you the viewer are invited along.

This print is an etching and aquatint made on a copper plate. It is printed on Somerset Velvet, an off white heavyweight 300 gsm handmade paper from St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset. The print is in a limited edition of 75 and signed, numbered and dated in pencil by the artist. The image size is 30 x 40 cm on a paper size is 42 x 52 cm.

I come from a family of artists so grew up in a lovely creative environment. One of my forebearers was a well known printmaker who transcribed JMW Turner's paintings into engravings in the early twentieth century. I am a graduate of the Royal College of Art, London and the École des Beaux Arts, Paris, I have worked as a professional artist for many years. For the last 18 years I have split my time between Cadiz Province in southern Spain, where I make much of my work, and a large print studio in Birmingham, UK. I am a printmaker who also paints and my working mediums are etching, silkscreen, monotype, and oil on canvas, paper and board. As a figurative artist my interests are fairly traditional and representational. My work covers a broad spectrum of subjects from fluid, evocative landscapes to narrative pieces very much in the printmaking tradition. I strive to make pieces of art that reach in peoples' soul or touch their hearts.
