Originally from Ile de France, SANK spent his formative years in a quaint village in Briard, located 50 kilometers away from Paris. At the age of 15, he relocated to Pyrénées Orientales, and it was only a few years later that he discovered the enchanting Village of Céret. This village held a special place in his heart as it housed a museum of modern art, showcasing remarkable paintings by renowned artists such as Picasso, Chagall, and Matisse. Céret played a significant role in the Cubist movement and also showcased important artworks of Fauvism and Impressionism.
SANK draws inspiration from iconic characters such as Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, and Dragon Ball, all of whom have been a constant presence throughout his formative years. As he entered adolescence, he became influenced by Hip Hop culture and discovered the world of graffiti. This artistic medium allowed him to immerse himself in the art form and expand his knowledge and skills.
SANK's artistic universe is characterized by three-dimensional shapes, never straying far from the influence of cubism. Cubism, with its aim to deconstruct and present multiple perspectives on an object, resonates with SANK's artistic vision. His work is often described as playful, perplexing, and captivating, eliciting these very emotions in the eyes of both art enthusiasts and collectors who have been drawn to his work for several years. These are the precise sentiments that SANK endeavors to convey through his art.
