This is one in a series of artworks I made which combines the unintential beauty of scientific illustrations/diagrams with images of people who have been removed for their own context and transposed into an abstract landscape. The juxaposition of imaginery creates a surreal world, which is both nostalgic and dream-like. The images are built up over several layers and utilises many artistic techniques including drawing, markmaking, printing (half tone screen printing, mono printing and relief printing), painting (oil and acrylic) and hand lettering.
All the work in this series are created by traditional techniques...they are NOT collage or digital prints.

Pc Morgan, originally from the UK, has spent many years studying and teaching art before relocating to the beautiful yet rainy northwest of France. After a prolonged break from the art scene, Morgan has returned to the craft with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and perspective.
Morgan's artwork is a fusion of traditional painting techniques such as oils and acrylics, alongside various printmaking methods including screen printing, mono printing, and block printing. Drawn to the nostalgic charm of old photographs depicting everyday life, Morgan enjoys reimagining these images within new and unconventional contexts. By removing them from their original setting, Morgan creates peculiar and imaginative worlds for these figures to inhabit.
Inspired by the unintentional appeal of scientific illustrations and diagrams, Morgan incorporates this disparate imagery into her work, resulting in aesthetically intriguing yet beautiful compositions. Through this unique blending of elements, Morgan's art explores themes of nostalgia, transformation, and the surreal, inviting viewers to engage with familiar imagery in unexpected and thought-provoking ways.
