Paata Kokaia is a contemporary artist originally from Georgia, now based in Germany, where he settled about a decade ago. Having completed his studies in sculpture at the Tbilisi Art Academy in Georgia, Paata's thirst for artistic exploration and personal growth led him to Germany.
In Germany, Paata continued his artistic journey at the Alauns Art University, thanks to a DAAD scholarship that provided him with the opportunity to develop his talents freely and without constraints. This period was marked by exciting creative discoveries and invaluable experiences, during which Paata not only refined his artistic skills but also encountered numerous inspiring individuals and gained fresh perspectives.
In recognition of his artistic achievements, Paata Kokaia received third place in the "Young Cheezze Award for Photography" for residents, as well as the prestigious DAAD prize in 2019. Furthermore, he was honored with a nomination for the Göpel Art Prize. These accolades hold significant meaning for Paata, serving as sources of motivation to continuously refine his craft and pursue further artistic development.
