This painting is my reflection on the first weeks of the Russian invasion. Darkness, sounds of explosions, a cold winter morning filled with chaos and destruction. This work depicts one of the many spectrums of the experience of the Ukrainian people during the war. Numerous debris in gray and cold winter tones, which form the shape of one of the explosions against the background of the city.
The first split plane in the lower part of the picture has a gray-green shade and depicts the mutilated Ukrainian land. Further, the forms of destroyed frozen buildings are formed from the gray-blue debris. Also, in the lower half of the painting, an image of people who are experiencing numerous shellings underground at metro stations is formed. The red circle and stripes are a symbol of the bloody morning sun and the chaotic blows of the invaders, which lead to terrible casualties. The epicenter of the explosion and the smoke from it are formed from the gray triangles. Inside it, Ukrainians are depicted in their homes, sleeping in a corridor on the floor between two walls to reduce the chance of death from Russian attacks. The black triangles in the upper part of the picture are a symbolic representation of enemy aircraft. And also black ravens, which then dispose of what remains of the occupiers.
I will send 50% of the money from the sale of the painting to the Ukrainian fund "Come Back Alive".

I'm Ukrainian self-taught artist. Decision to start learning art came to me in 2016. After 1 year of drawing exercises and subject knowledge gathering I have started uploading my first works for selling.
In the beginning it was just pencil realism for even more practice and technique improvements. Next step was learning colors by using acrylics. After some pop-art artworks I have started experimenting by adding a bit of self developed stylization to realism and also some geometric shapes.
I made a break for more self-taught and from January 2020 my productivity came back and I finally found the most interesting direction for my future artworks.
In my new artworks series you can find harmony of several styles, materials and techniques. Acrylics, watercolour, liners and graphite playing equal role on paper surface. Smooth realism sensitively dancing with abstract geometric shapes. Cold and warm colours creating contrast feeling of pleasure.
